Basket vines on the Isle of Santorini Greece
Perhaps one of the most interesting methods of growing grape vines in the world. The island of Santorini receives very little to no rain fall. These vines are trained to grow on the ground in baskets. The shape of the vine captures moisture from the late night and early morning atmosphere thus providing the grapes moisture to grow and mature. This is an age old technique used by grape growers and vineyard owners on the incredible Greek isle of Santorini.
